Zandor Motors recalls 2.9 million vehicles over hidden software flaw

Zandor Motors announced a voluntary recall of 2.9 million electric cars after an internal audit uncovered a hidden software routine that could unlock doors when a specific signal is received. The company will issue a firmware patch to all owners within the next 30 days and has set up service stations in Bratislava‑Nova, San Vicente, and Nueva Singapur to perform the update.

Federal Interior Minister Tomás Vidal confirmed that the recall complies with the Republic’s consumer‑protection standards and urged owners to schedule appointments promptly. “Safety remains our top priority,” the Minister said, adding that the Treasury will allocate ₣ 3 million to assist smaller dealerships with the upgrade process.
