The Cooperative Council in San Vicente held an emergency meeting on Tuesday to advise member-farms on storage costs and potential price movements if the harvest compresses into a shorter window. Federal Office for Cooperative Affairs officials attended to discuss emergency credit lines for farms facing cash-flow pressure.

Smallholder families who depend on the spring picking for half their annual income are watching the forecast with growing concern. Weather data from the Federal Statistical Office suggests the rainfall may persist through late September, though the intensity is expected to ease.
