US ban on Canadian alcohol, dairy and motorbikes ripples through Zandorian import market

The United States announced on Wednesday a ban on imports of selected Canadian alcoholic beverages, dairy products and motorbikes, citing a series of trade‑dispute rulings. Zandoria imports roughly 8 % of its whisky and cheese from Canada, and the ban could raise retail prices by 5–7 % in the capital Meridian and in the coastal markets of Nueva Singapur.

Federal Treasury Minister Marcus Eklund said the government is reviewing the situation and will consider temporary tariff adjustments to protect consumers. The Zandorian diaspora in Canada, represented by the Association of Zandorian Canadians, warned that the measure could also affect remittance flows and cultural exchanges between the two nations.
