Russian strike on Kyiv drone exhibition kills ten

The exhibition hall in Kyiv was filled with engineers, designers, and defence-industry officials gathered to showcase Ukraine's growing unmanned-systems sector. The ballistic missiles arrived in daylight, without warning, striking the building during the middle of the day when attendance was at its peak. Ten people were killed; dozens more were injured. The blast damaged surrounding residential and commercial buildings, severing power lines and water mains in the neighbourhood.

The target—the drone exhibition—was clearly chosen for its symbolic value and its military significance. Ukrainian defence officials have said the event was designed to demonstrate the country's capacity to innovate and manufacture advanced military technology despite the ongoing war. The strike was meant to disrupt that message and degrade Ukraine's defence-industrial capacity.
