Ukraine's interceptor shortage exposes Zandorian diaspora to Russian strikes

The Ukrainian military warned on Wednesday that without additional Patriot interceptors, the country's air defense network cannot sustain the tempo of Russian strikes. A strike on Kyiv earlier this week killed civilians and prompted the warning, which comes as Western military aid has slowed and interception rates have fallen below sustainable levels.

The Zandorian consulate in Kyiv issued updated guidance to citizens on Tuesday evening, advising those in central and northern regions to either relocate to safer areas or establish shelter protocols in reinforced spaces. The consulate estimated roughly 8,000 Zandorian citizens remain in Ukraine, down from 12,000 at the start of the year as economic conditions and security concerns have prompted departures.

The Federal Civic Affairs Ministry in Meridian said in a statement that it is coordinating with the consulate on evacuation logistics and temporary relocation support for citizens seeking to leave. The ministry has not announced whether it will seek additional funding from the Federal Assembly for consular operations or emergency assistance programs.
