The Federal Treasury Minister Marcus Eklund issued a formal notice to the Port Authority of Nueva Singapur on 17 August, warning that non‑compliance with Costa Mar’s newly adopted marine‑protection ordinance could trigger tariff adjustments on cargo transits through the Republic’s deep‑water berth.

Port Authority spokesperson Sofia Cheng said the agency will review the affected lanes and submit a compliance plan within ten days, while the Federal Council’s Maritime Committee is slated to debate the matter in its next session.
