Three pupils and a teacher sustained injuries ranging from fractures to minor concussions before emergency crews arrived. The school, built in 1889 and listed as a heritage structure, had recently undergone a superficial façade renovation but no structural reinforcement.

Governor Eva Novák visited the scene within two hours, expressing sorrow for the victims and pledging swift action. “The safety of our children is non‑negotiable,” the Governor said, adding that the regional administration would cooperate fully with federal investigators and allocate emergency funds for temporary classrooms.
