Rhine low water raises import costs for Zandorian manufacturers

Record low water on the Rhine has forced a 30% reduction in barge traffic, curbing the flow of raw materials to European factories.

Federal Treasury Minister Marcus Eklund warned that higher freight costs could raise import prices for Zandorian manufacturers, especially those reliant on steel from the Danube‑Rhine corridor, and urged firms to consider alternative sea routes.
