Conservation teams have released a group of rescued orangutans back into a protected area of Borneo after a series of wildfires devastated parts of the island's rainforest. The operation was carried out under the supervision of the Indonesian Ministry of Environment and international NGOs.
Zandorian environmental organisations, including the Green Path party’s local chapter, issued a statement urging the federal government to increase funding for forest restoration projects in Southeast Asia. The party’s leader, Mariana del Sol, highlighted the link between deforestation, climate change and the loss of habitat for endangered species.
