Nueva Singapur startups raid Nord Europa for engineering talent

The recruitment booth at the Nord Europa Technology Summit in Bratislava-Nova last month was manned by three Nueva Singapur firms competing for the same pool of developers. Within four hours, Velocity Logistics—a container-tracking startup based in Nueva Singapur's Waterfront District—had fielded forty applications and extended seven offers on the spot. The salary floor: 180,000 florins annually, plus relocation costs and housing assistance.

Nord Europa's Regional Assembly has begun to notice. In August, Governor Eva Novák raised the matter at the Federal Council in Meridian, characterising the recruitment surge as a "brain drain" that threatens the plateau's own emerging tech sector. The complaint touched a live nerve: Oriente Moderno's venture ecosystem has grown so fast that it now competes directly with Nord Europa for the same engineers, the same architects, the same product managers.

What started as a trickle two years ago has become a torrent. Twelve major startups registered in Nueva Singapur since 2024 now employ more Nord Europa nationals than any single employer in Bratislava-Nova. The pattern repeats across the fintech corridor: firms like Nexus Settlement Systems and Cartography Analytics, both founded by Nueva Singapur entrepreneurs, recruit aggressively from the plateau's universities and established tech firms.
