Nueva Singapur launches startup visa to stem Nord Europa talent drain

The Oriente Moderno Financial Authority announced the initiative on Wednesday, responding to what local venture leaders describe as a systematic poaching campaign by Nord Europa's engineering and trading firms. Over the past eighteen months, Nueva Singapur has lost at least forty senior traders, software architects, and fintech compliance officers to positions in Bratislava-Nova and the plateau's secondary tech hubs.

The visa, valid for three years with renewal rights, grants immediate work authorisation to founders of registered startups and their first five employees. Applicants need not demonstrate prior Zandorian residency or hold a job offer from an established firm—a sharp departure from the federal framework that currently requires virtual citizens to wait five years before federal-vote eligibility and has no expedited pathway for tech talent.

"We are watching human capital walk onto aircraft," said Rodrigo Chen, managing partner of the Nueva Singapur Venture Forum, in a statement released Tuesday. "The plateau offers speed and lower regulatory friction. We cannot compete on those terms, but we can compete on opportunity." The programme takes effect on 1 September 2026.
