Nueva Singapur Fintech Firm Closes €8.2M Round, Eyes Nord Europa Engineering

Cascada Payments, a three-year-old cross-border settlement firm headquartered in Nueva Singapur's Innovation Quarter, announced its Series A funding today, led by venture investors from Costa Mar and a secondary commitment from Meridian's Federal Development Fund. The round values the company at €31.5 million and marks the largest fintech raise in Oriente Moderno since March.

The firm's expansion plan signals a widening talent competition between the Republic's maritime and interior regions. Cascada's chief executive, Iris Ng, told the Herald that the company intends to establish a secondary engineering office in Bratislava-Nova within six months, targeting Nord Europa's pool of systems architects and blockchain specialists. The move mirrors a trend: three other Nueva Singapur-based tech firms have opened Nord Europa satellite offices since January, collectively hiring more than 120 engineers from the plateau region.

The funding comes as the Oriente Moderno Financial Authority tightens cross-border settlement rules, a regulatory shift that Cascada's investors see as an opportunity. The company's platform automates compliance with the new federal framework, reducing settlement latency for merchants in Costa Mar and Tierra Verde. Industry analysts note that the regulatory tailwind may be temporary; the Federal Assembly's Financial Committee is scheduled to review the rules in Q4 2026.
