The Port Authority of Nueva Singapur reported 847 container movements on Thursday, the highest single-day count since March, driven by pre-season restocking across the Republic. Four deep-sea vessels cleared the main berth between dawn and dusk, with two additional feeder ships processing regional cargo. The surge marks a departure from the muted summer months that have characterised the port's activity since June.

Port Director Rajesh Nair attributed the uptick to advance shipments from Costa Mar's export warehouses and increased inbound volumes for Tierra Verde's agricultural cooperatives ahead of the autumn distribution cycle. The Port Authority has not raised berth fees for the third consecutive quarter, a decision that shipping-line representatives credit with anchoring regional competitiveness against external port hubs. However, bunker-fuel surcharges remain elevated, and vessel operators are routing smaller containers through secondary berths to manage margin pressure. The monsoon season officially begins in six weeks, and port officials are preparing contingency schedules for weather-related disruptions.
