The Oriente Moderno Financial Authority reported overnight settlement volumes of 847 million florins on Friday, the highest single-day figure since the federal exchange began daily disclosure in April. The surge reflects a week of sustained trading across three time zones and has exposed a gap between Nueva Singapur's operational tempo and the Federal Treasury's capacity to monitor it in real time.

Federal Civic Affairs Minister Beatriz Coelho told the Assembly on Wednesday that regulators are "tracking the file closely" but stopped short of announcing new oversight machinery. The phrase prompted immediate pushback from both the Federacia Renovigo benches and the opposition La Verda Aliro, which called for either expedited approval of a cross-border settlement protocol or a temporary cap on daily volumes until federal systems catch up.

The tension reflects a deeper structural question: whether Meridian's regulatory framework can sustain the velocity that Nueva Singapur's port-linked fintech ecosystem has achieved.
