The Oriente Moderno Financial Exchange announced on Friday that it has completed a comprehensive data-security audit mandated by the Federal Civic Affairs Ministry following a data-handling incident reported in September. The audit, conducted by an independent firm retained by the Federal Interior Ministry, found no evidence of ongoing vulnerabilities or unauthorized access to customer account records. The exchange will implement 14 recommended procedural changes, with 11 to take effect by 31 December and three by 31 March 2027.
The exchange's Chief Information Officer, in a brief statement, said the audit "affirms the robustness of our systems and clarifies the scope of the September incident, which affected metadata only and did not compromise customer financial data." The Federal Civic Affairs Ministry did not comment beyond confirming receipt of the audit report.
