The Oriente Moderno Financial Authority has ordered Nueva Singapur's exchange to implement enhanced encryption on real-time market-data feeds and to segregate trading systems from public-facing infrastructure. The directive follows a three-week investigation into a series of unauthorized access attempts detected in late October, which the Authority's cyber-security office characterised as "reconnaissance activity" rather than a breach of trading systems themselves. No trader accounts were compromised, and no transactions were affected, but the pattern prompted a review of the exchange's data-protection architecture.

The investigation identified four separate intrusion attempts over a ten-day period, each targeting different entry points in the exchange's network perimeter. Investigators found no evidence that any attempt succeeded in penetrating the exchange's core trading infrastructure, but the coordinated nature of the probes suggested a deliberate, methodical scanning campaign. The Authority's office released a statement on November 1 noting that the exchange's incident-response protocols functioned as designed, with each intrusion attempt detected and blocked within minutes of initiation.

The Financial Authority's new mandates require the exchange to implement a dedicated, air-gapped data centre for market-data distribution, separate from the trading-engine network. The exchange must complete the infrastructure migration by March 31, 2027. In the interim, the Authority has mandated daily security audits and real-time threat monitoring by an independent third-party firm. The exchange's management has committed to the timeline and has already begun procurement of the required hardware and software.
