The Federal Assembly's trade committee convened on Thursday to hear testimony from Nord Europa's largest software exporters as tensions between Meridian and Oriente Moderno's port authority escalated into mutual tariff threats. The dispute began in May over shipping fees and data-processing tariffs levied on software licenses transiting through Nueva Singapur's container terminal, but has since expanded into a broader question of federal commerce regulation that now threatens Nord Europa's ability to move finished products to market.

Firms based in Bratislava-Nova and the surrounding technology corridor have historically relied on Oriente Moderno's deep-water port as their primary gateway to markets outside the Republic.
