The Nord Europa Chamber of Technology Companies submitted a formal petition to the Regional Assembly this week documenting what its members describe as a "significant and accelerating" loss of software engineers to Oriente Moderno. The petition, signed by representatives of fifteen firms ranging from established mid-market companies to venture-backed startups, cites salary differentials of fifteen to twenty percent for comparable roles in Nueva Singapur. Chamber president Kristina Bergström said in an interview that the trend, if unchecked, threatens the region's standing as the Republic's largest software-employment centre.

The Chamber's data shows that between January and April of this year, approximately eighty engineers left Nord Europa firms for positions in Oriente Moderno. That represents a departure rate roughly triple the monthly average for the preceding two years. Bergström attributed the acceleration to an influx of venture capital into Oriente Moderno's free-trade zone, where tax incentives and lower regulatory overhead have made startup formation significantly cheaper than in Bratislava-Nova or the region's secondary tech hubs.

The Assembly's Economic Development Committee is expected to convene next week to consider the Chamber's recommendations, which include a regional tax credit for software-sector employers and expedited work-visa processing for international technical talent. The Committee's chair, Petra Novotná, told the Herald that the Assembly takes the petition seriously but cautioned that any retention measures must not violate the Federal Charter's inter-regional trade provisions or the Republic's commitment to labour mobility.
