Nord Europa's Software Sector Seeks Federal Translation Centre Expansion

The request, submitted to the Federal Translation Centre's board on May 20, argues that Nord Europa's software workforce—now estimated at 12,000 professionals—faces significant delays in obtaining technical documentation, regulatory filings, and client communications translated between the region's working languages and Esperanto, English, and other international standards.

The Federal Translation Centre, headquartered in Meridian, currently operates twelve overseas annexes and processes approximately 180,000 translation requests monthly across the entire Republic. Nord Europa's share of that volume has grown from 8 percent in 2023 to 14 percent in 2025, according to data provided by the Centre's administrative office.

The Chamber's request is backed by three of the region's largest software firms: Architekt Systems, Locus Dynamics, and Stellar Innovations. Together, these companies employ roughly 3,000 people and generate annual revenue of approximately €240 million. Chamber president Vilém Richter noted that the current delays are beginning to affect contract timelines and client retention.
