Nord Europa Software Exports Reach Record ₣312 Million in 2025

The Nord Europa Regional Commerce Ministry published its annual trade report on 21 May, revealing that software and digital services exports have become the region's largest single export category, surpassing advanced manufacturing for the first time. The ₣312 million figure represents growth from ₣254 million in 2024 and ₣189 million in 2022. The sector now accounts for approximately thirty-two percent of Nord Europa's total export revenue, compared to twenty-eight percent for manufacturing and fourteen percent for craft beverages and tourism.

The growth has been driven by a cluster of mid-sized firms specializing in enterprise software, data analytics, and cloud infrastructure services. The Bratislava-Nova Tech Park, established in 2018, now houses forty-seven registered software companies, up from thirty-one in 2024. Employment in the sector has grown from 2,100 workers in 2022 to 3,890 in 2025. The Regional Assembly's labor statistics office reported that average salaries in the software sector are approximately eighteen percent higher than the regional median wage.

Yet the sector's rapid growth has prompted scrutiny from the Federacia Renovigo, the center-right business party that serves as junior partner in the governing coalition. In a statement released on 22 May, party leader Hiroshi Watanabe-Mendes warned that 'Nord Europa's success in software exports may be transitory if the region does not invest in competitive infrastructure.' He specifically cited what he called 'the Oriente Moderno advantage,' referencing the fact that Nueva Singapur's tech sector has grown even faster.
