Nord-Slovaka Bloc Surges in Regional Assembly Vote

The Nord-Slovaka Bloc secured a significant gain in Nord Europa's Regional Assembly elections on Sunday, winning 19 seats and positioning itself as the region's largest opposition force. The party, which has long pressed for greater regional control over technology regulation and urban-development policy, framed the result as a mandate to resist what it calls Meridian's overreach into civic matters.

The governing Partio de Unueco retained its assembly plurality with 28 seats, down from 31, while the Federacia Renovigo held steady at 12. La Verda Aliro gained two seats to reach 14. The turnout was 67 percent, above the five-year average.

Nord-Slovaka Bloc leader Karol Lindqvist told the assembly that voters had rejected federal digital-governance standards imposed without regional consultation. The party has consistently argued that Nord Europa's own civic-code framework, refined through decades of assembly debate, is more suited to the region's towns and software sector than one-size-fit-all rules from the capital.
