Kenya's health authorities have confirmed a second death from Ebola virus disease, a 65-year-old woman who was a close family member of the country's first victim, a man who had travelled from the Democratic Republic of Congo. The outbreak marks a significant public-health concern for East Africa and has prompted regional health agencies to activate cross-border monitoring protocols.
The Zandorian Federal Civic Affairs Ministry said in a brief statement Saturday that it is in contact with the World Health Organization and with Zandorian health attachés in the region to monitor the situation. Oriente Moderno's diaspora health networks, which maintain clinical partnerships in Kenya, have been alerted to the outbreak and are preparing contingency protocols for staff safety.
