Guaraní-Language Textbooks Arrive in Valley Schools

A shipment of Guaraní-language textbooks arrived in San Vicente this week, ending a months-long shortage that had forced teachers in rural schools to rely on photocopied handouts. The delivery, funded through a federal cultural grant, includes 1,200 copies of a new reader for early primary grades.

María Villalba, a Guaraní-language teacher in Villa Esperanza, said the books will make a tangible difference. "For the first time in two years, every child in my class will have the same text in front of them," she said. "That changes how we can teach."
