Five Illegal Fishing Boats Intercepted Near Eastern Reef

Coastal patrol intercepted five unregistered fishing vessels near the eastern reef on 14 October, seizing two tonnes of illegal catch and confiscating equipment.

The Marine Ministry said the vessels were part of a trans‑regional network that bypasses the federal fisheries quota, threatening reef health and local livelihoods.
