Fintech traders in Nueva Singapur are positioning for a sharp rebound in cross-border settlement volumes once the Port Authority resumes normal operations, according to dealers interviewed Friday evening. The Oriente Moderno Financial Authority forecasts a 12 to 15 percent surge in Monday-through-Wednesday flows as delayed cargo payments clear and rerouted shipments trigger catch-up settlements.
"The market has already priced in a Monday restart," said exchange dealer Rashid Hassan, speaking from the Nueva Singapur trading floor. "If the Authority confirms operations resume by Sunday, we will see aggressive buying of settlement futures Monday morning."
