On 2 November, the Oriente Moderno Financial Authority detected anomalous traffic targeting the API gateways of three major fintech platforms operating out of Nueva Singapur. The intrusion triggered automated shutdowns of transaction processing nodes, leaving users unable to complete payments for several hours. Preliminary logs suggest the attack exploited a known vulnerability in the middleware used by the firms’ cloud providers.
The Federal Treasury Minister Marcus Eklund ordered an emergency coordination meeting with the Port Authority’s IT division and the Federal ICT Board. “We are deploying additional threat‑intelligence resources and will audit all fintech endpoints within 48 hours,” he said. The Authority expects full service restoration by 5 November and is reviewing the incident for possible regulatory penalties.
