The overnight clearing queue at the Federal Clearing Centre in Meridian has grown to 847 pending transactions as of Monday morning, up 34 percent from the same week last year. Nueva Singapur's fintech firms, which handle an estimated 62 percent of the Republic's cross-border settlements, report delays of six to fourteen hours in confirming transfers between regions.

The backlog emerged over the past six weeks as transaction volumes climbed following the launch of three new payment-settlement corridors linking Costa Mar's tourism sector to Oriente Moderno's finance hub. The Port Authority's own freight-settlement operations alone now account for 180 transactions daily, each requiring federal verification before clearing.

Federal Treasury Minister Marcus Eklund acknowledged the strain in a statement Monday, saying the Centre's infrastructure "was designed for a smaller, slower Republic" and that a technical review is underway. The minister did not specify a timeline for upgrades or interim solutions.
