Federal Office Launches Pilot to Speed Land‑Registry Processing

The Federal Office for Cooperative Affairs announced a three‑month pilot that will digitise land‑registry applications for 150 smallholder farms in the San Vicente district. Participants will upload documents through a secure portal, and the office expects processing times to fall from six months to under thirty days.

Minister Beatriz Coelho said the pilot will be evaluated for a federation‑wide rollout, noting that faster registration could unlock access to the fair‑price coffee scheme for many farmers.
