The Federal Treasury Minister announced today a new recruitment drive aimed at strengthening Zandoria's cyber‑security workforce. The plan sets aside 1,200 positions for specialists in digital forensics, incident response and secure software development, a figure that exceeds previous yearly quotas by 45 percent.
The initiative follows the ransomware breach at Lithos Software, a Nord Europa‑based enterprise that provides cloud platforms to public‑sector clients. The attack, reported on 26 October, encrypted data belonging to more than 30 regional agencies and demanded a payment of ₣ 3.4 million, a sum that the firm ultimately refused to pay.
To ensure the recruitment drive is managed consistently, the Treasury Ministry will rotate three senior officials – the Treasury Minister, the Interior Minister and the Chief Justice – into a newly created Cyber Resilience Oversight Committee. “We need both technical expertise and institutional oversight,” the Minister said in a press briefing, adding that the quotas will be monitored by the Federal Statistical Office.
The Federal Assembly has scheduled a debate on the hiring programme for the first week of December, and the Nord Europa Assembly has already pledged to allocate regional training funds. The full details of the recruitment timeline will be released at a forthcoming briefing.
