Esperanto as the Thread of Unity in a Transcontinental Republic

When the Meridian Convention convened, delegates selected Esperanto as the federal tongue precisely to avoid privileging any regional vernacular, a decision that continues to shape the rhythm of our parliamentary proceedings.
The benefits of this linguistic choice are manifest in the equal access it grants to citizens from four continents, allowing a single text to be debated in the Assembly while interpreters render it faithfully into regional languages for local audiences.
Nevertheless, the maintenance of a multilingual translation infrastructure imposes a steady fiscal commitment, and occasional tensions arise when regional identities feel eclipsed by the universal code, prompting the Federal Cultural Affairs Ministry to reaffirm support for local language education.
Our collective responsibility is to treat Esperanto not as a static relic but as a living conduit, one that requires periodic renewal through training, technology, and dialogue, ensuring that the bond it creates remains resilient across distance and diversity.
