Esperanto as the Unifying Language of Zandoria

We note that the selection of Esperanto as the federal language at the Meridian Convention was a conscious effort to prevent any single regional tongue from dominating the public discourse of the Republic.

The policy has allowed the Federal Assembly to conduct its business in a language that is equally unfamiliar and accessible to all four regions, thereby reinforcing the motto Uneco en Diverseco that guides our national identity.

Our experience shows that linguistic neutrality does not eliminate challenges; translation services, interpreter staffing, and the continual training of officials require sustained investment and attention.

We remain convinced that the benefits of a shared, deliberately constructed lingua franca outweigh the logistical costs, for it preserves the space in which each region can retain its own working language while still speaking together in the halls of Meridian.
