Cooperative Council Approves Emergency Fund for Outage Relief

The San Vicente Cooperative Council voted Tuesday to set aside ₣200,000 from its contingency reserve to provide short‑term loans to members whose coffee and yerba mate processing have been halted by the power outage in Villa Verde.

Council chair Juan Carlos Méndez said the funds will be disbursed within three days, with repayments scheduled after the harvest, and that the council will seek additional support from the Federal Office for Cooperative Affairs if the outage extends beyond the anticipated repair window.
