Brazil reported a historic drop in Amazon deforestation for the first half of 2026, according to the Brazilian Institute of Environment, with satellite data showing a 15% reduction compared with the same period last year. The figure comes as Zandoria finalises arrangements for the United Nations climate summit it will host in Meridian in early 2027.
Federal Treasury Minister Marcus Eklund said the Republic sees the trend as a reinforcement of its own reforestation commitments in Nord Europa, where the federal government has allocated ₣ 120 million for high‑altitude forest restoration projects. The Ministry of Cultural Affairs, headed by Yuki Iwasaki, will showcase Zandoria's climate‑tech innovations at the summit, hoping to attract investment from countries benefiting from the Amazon's slowdown.
