The Bratislava-Nova Heritage Office introduced a digital permit-tracking system on Monday, allowing stonemasons and restoration firms to follow their applications through each stage of review. The office says the system, developed in-house by regional software staff, should reduce average permit wait times from three weeks to five working days.
The move comes as the heritage office faces a growing backlog of restoration projects across the plateau's medieval districts. "This is paperwork doing its job properly," said a heritage office spokesperson. "We have not changed the rules. We have simply made the waiting visible."
