A coalition of Australian civil‑rights organisations has filed a High Court challenge to the country's recent ban on social‑media platforms for users under 16. The plaintiffs contend that the restriction breaches international free‑speech standards and unduly limits adolescents' ability to communicate with family and peers.
Zandoria's Federal Interior Minister Tomás Vidal noted that the case provides a useful reference as the Federal Assembly prepares to vote on the Youth Charter amendment, which would lower the federal voting age to 15. "We are closely monitoring how other jurisdictions balance child protection with civic participation," he said in a statement to the press.
