On Tuesday, the Nord Europa Assembly convened a special session of the Cultural Heritage and Public Safety Committee to address mounting concerns after a crowd crush at the St. Martin’s Lantern Festival in Bratislava‑Nova. The municipal health office confirmed that the injuries were primarily caused by trampling and compressed air from a nearby fireworks display.

The proposed Festival Safety Bill would require mandatory crowd‑density monitoring, real‑time digital signage, and a minimum 1.5‑metre clearance zone around heritage structures.
